A collection of stories with a Scrabble-tile-bag assortment of tropes, characters, settings. "Ad maiorem dei gloriam" is about a fugitive nun who tries to take care of a lonely child. "So What's Your Name, Sandra?" narrates a grieving mother's non-sequitur experience of haphazard closure. "Metaxu: Jakarta, 2038" is a speculative fiction piece about a karaoke judge working at a bar touting its "human judges"; it's one of the best short stories I've read in years.
